Caltex Socceroos' latest FIFA rankings revealed

The Caltex Socceroos have retained their place in the world's top 50 following the release of the latest FIFA rankings on Thursday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side hasn’t played a much since the release of the last rankings in early April, when they surged up 17 spots to sit at 50th in the world - a place they'll hold for the next month.

In fact all teams in the top 50 maintained their positions with no A-international matches being played during the month of April.

The Aussies remain the second highest ranked team in Asia, behind only Iran and ahead of World Cup qualifying opponents Japan by seven places.

The Socceroos have three huge friendlies approaching over the next month, starting with a highly-anticipated clash with England (10) at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on May 28 (AEST).

That clash is followed by back-to-back home friendlies against Greece (37) in Sydney (on June 4) and Melbourne (June 7).

Argentina remain in top spot on the rankings, with Belgium and Chile rounding out the top three nations.
