Ten players have been added to the CommBank Socceroos train-on squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ pre-camp in Sarasota, Florida.
A-League duo Aziz Behich and Patrick Beach (Melbourne City) join seven UK-based players and Netherlands-based Ajdin Hrustic (Heracles Almelo) in departing for Sarasota, Florida today.
Cameron Burgess (Swansea City), Mohamed Toure (Norwich City), Nestory Irankunda (Watford), Daniel Bennie (QPR), Raphael Borges Rodrigues (Wigan Athletic, on loan from Coventry City), Alex Robertson (Cardiff City) and Joe Gauci (Port Vale, on loan from Aston Villa) are the UK-based players.
Bennie and Borges Rodrigues, both Australian youth internationals, have received their maiden CommBank Socceroos call-ups.
They join the eight players who arrived in Sarasota last week: Harry Souttar (Leicester City), Hayden Matthews (Portsmouth), Anthony Caceres (Macarthur FC), Mitch Duke (Macarthur FC), Brandon Borrello (Western Sydney), Nick D’Agostino (Brisbane Roar), Nishan Velupillay (Melbourne Victory) and Mathew Leckie (Melbourne City).
Popovic and the CommBank Socceroos coaching staff are using the Sarasota camp to assess an extended number of players in a train-on squad, before finalising their selection.
More players will be added to the train-on squad in the coming weeks. The final FIFA World Cup 2026™ squad - up to 26 players - is due to be submitted to FIFA by June 1.
The CommBank Socceroos kick off their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign against Türkiye in Vancouver on June 13 (June 14 AEST). Drawn in Group D, the Socceroos will also face tournament co-hosts the United States in Seattle (June 19) and Paraguay at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara (June 25).
The CommBank Socceroos will relocate from Sarasota, Florida, to Los Angeles on May 28, ahead of the May 30 friendly match against co-hosts Mexico at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Oakland, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, will then become home for the Socceroos, with the Oakland Roots Sports Club - located on Bay Farm Island in Alameda - serving as the official Base Camp training site during the tournament.
