Fans back Federici but Reading lose

Reading fans were out in force to support their Socceroo keeper Adam Federici but it wasn’t enough as the Royals lost 1-0 to Birmingham City at home on Wednesday night.

Federici has received an outpouring of support since his costly blunder saw the Royals beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on the weekend.

A Twitter campaign - #FlagsForFeds – was almost immediately started with fans planning to bring Aussie flags or wear pink, the same colour as his goalkeeping jersey, to Wednesday night’s clash.
