Bos has gotten off to a flying start for his new side, earning two goals and one assist in just seven Eredivisie appearances under coach Robin van Persie. Such form earned Bos the Eredivisie Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards.

Now, he will turn his attention to the Socceroos’ matches against Canada and the USA, as the 22-year-old defender aims for another impressive window for his beloved national team.

Read on for a summary of his recent press conference.

Facing Canada and the USA

Both opponents are very good. Every game is always going to be hard, especially against Canada and the USA. I think we just have to stick to the game plan that the coach is laying out for us and give our all. It should be all good, but obviously a bit of a challenging opposition - we’ll see how it goes.

Being in the 2026 World Cup environment

That’s part of the plan, to come to Canada and the USA to adapt a little bit and check it all out to prepare ourselves for the World Cup next year. Obviously, the altitude and stuff like that are all part of the challenges, and that’s why we’re here, to prepare for that and to get used to it.

His recent form

I’m really enjoying my football, which is helping. It’s been a busy couple of months, coming from Westerlo to Feyenoord, getting that all finished and finalised and then going straight into playing. So it’s been quite busy, but really enjoyable.

Pushing for a starting spot

Every camp that I come to is a great opportunity. I try my hardest every time to solidify that spot. I hope that I do enough for camp to keep getting called back. It’s a great opportunity and I hope I can keep going.

The trajectory of his career

The plan was always to get to Europe and play in Europe. To go to Westerlo in a very good competition gave me the best chance to play, and that was the main priority. And then, from the Belgian League, you can go pretty much anywhere. So in my case it was Feyenoord, but it could lead to so many possibilites and from here there are also a lot of possibilities.

Being a Feyenoord fan

Living in Australia, it was hard to watch the games live. But I remember my dad would always put the highlights on, so we would watch that. It’s a huge deal for my family, especially the ones who live in Holland. I think they were just as excited as I was when they heard the news, so it’s crazy for them as well, and they always want to come and watch the games. It’s pretty unreal - playing for them is an honour.
