The 25-year-old had spent the previous two seasons in the Scottish Premiership with St Mirren after arriving from Western Sydney Wanderers, and has now opted for a change of scenery to the Stags following the expiration of his deal.

Baccus played 72 matches for the Paisley based side, scoring four goals and registering four assists.

The holding midfielder will now move south of the border to ply his trade for the Nottinghamshire side which gained automatic promotion after finishing third in League Two in the recently concluded 2023/24 season.

Manager Nigel Clough said in a statement on the club's website: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Keanu has agreed to join us.

“He had plenty of suitors, in League One especially, when it was known that he wanted to play in England and we’ve managed to persuade him to come and join us.

“He has much potential, is at a good age and we think he plays in the manner which we like; on the front foot and he’s good at winning the ball back.”

Baccus has 18 caps for his country and scored his maiden senior international goal against Lebanon during the March FIFA Window.
