Media Reports Correction
The Australian Soccer Association would like to correct certain information that has appeared in various media outlets recently, regarding Australia’s World Cup qualifying play-off.
Reports suggest that Australia will be playing the Solomon Islands in its World Cup qualifying play-off in October of this year. This particular play-off will not actually take place until September 2005. The October matches against the Solomon Islands will in actual fact be the Oceania Nations Cup Final play-off, with the winner qualifying for the 2005 Confederations Cup in Germany.
