Maty Ryan will bring a wealth of experience to his fourth FIFA World Cup™, potentially becoming the CommBank Socceroos most capped player in the process.

The young goalkeeper made the experience of his first World Cup at Russia 2014 count when he was a part of the victorious AFC Asian Cup 2015™ side on home soil, winning the Golden Glove at that tournament. He was also in the Team of the Tournament at the AFC Asian Cup 2023™.

His club career has spanned the likes of Valencia, Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal, AZ Alkmaar and most recently Levante. He comes into the tournament off the back of outstanding form for Levante, where he helped them survive relegation with five clean sheets in their last eight games.

Socceroos Cap Number: 650
Appearances (goals): 4 (0)
Major tournaments: Debut

Paul Izzo represents a fantastic story of hard work and consistent improvement to take part in his first major tournament for the CommBank Socceroos.

The 31-year-old the first decade of his career as an A-League Men’s journeyman. He was part of Adelaide’s winning Australia Cup (then FFA Cup) teams in 2014, 2018 and 2019 and was the Mariners Player of the Year in 2016/17.

In August 2021, during his time in Greece for Xanthi, he was called up to his first senior Socceroos squad. Two seasons at Melbourne Victory between 2022 and 2024 earned him a move to Randers in the Danish Superliga in 2024.

When he finally earned his Socceroos debut in November 2025, Izzo shone, keeping a clean sheet against New Zealand in a hard-fought match. His performances in an Australian jersey have put him in serious contention to make his first appearance at a World Cup in the United States.

22-year-old Patrick Beach earns his place in his first major tournament after impressing for Melbourne City in the A-League Men’s.

While Beach is still early in his professional career, the young goalkeeper has so far impressed at every turn. He played a key role in City’s A-League Championship in 2024/25 and – after representing Australia at the AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2024™ - was called up by Tony Popovic for the first time in 2025.

His debut against Venezuela showed that he is ready to perform at international level, named Player of the Match after making several impressive saves in the 1-0 defeat. Beach will provide stern competition to Ryan and Izzo as well as gaining valuable experience for a long career ahead.
