As we prepare to see the Subway Socceroos take on Ecuador in a two-match series this month, it's time to take a trip down memory lane and look back on the last (and only) time these two nations met.
Australia's one meeting with Ecuador at senior men's level was an international friendly on March 5, 2014 that ended in a 4-3 defeat.

It was played on neutral territory in London, with Millwall's 'The Den' a fitting setting for Tim Cahill to break the Socceroos' all-time goalscoring record, overtaking Damian Mori with his 30th international goal in the eighth minute.
15 minutes in Ange Postecoglou's side added another, with recently-named Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak marking his first match wearing the armband with a trademark cooly-taken penalty.
Australia extended their lead to 3-0 after just 32 minutes, with Cahill registering a brace with a diving header.
Due to it being one of his early matches in charge of the national team, Postecoglou made a number of substitutions, including a half-time goalkeeper change which saw Mitch Langerak replacing Maty Ryan.
Fidel Martinez pulled one back in the 57th minute, sparking an almighty fightback from the South American nation.
Langerak was shown a straight red card minutes later, with Segundo Castillo converting the subsequent penalty past Brad Jones, before Enner Valencia struck in the 77th minute and Edison Mendez completed the turnaround in the 92nd.
