After departing Melbourne Victory, Paul Izzo has penned a three-year deal with Danish Superliga side Randers FC for an undisclosed fee.
Izzo was one of the A-League's best goalkeepers last season in the Isuzu UTE A-League and his form did not go unnoticed, catching the attention of Subway Socceroos boss Graham Arnold, who rewarded him with a recall for the recent June FIFA Window.
The 29-year-old gloveman amassed 50 league appearances across his two years with the club following a return to Australia from Greek side Xanthi FC.
However, an impressive campaign for Victory, the former Adelaide United shot-stopper has decided to try his luck again in Europe, joining the Horses after reaching an agreement on a three-year contract.
Speaking on his transfer to Denmark, Izzo said via a club statement: "I am very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to represent Randers FC.
"I've had some good years in Australia, but the goal for me has always been to come back to Europe and try myself here again, then came this opportunity to come to Randers, and it was perfect for me.
"Randers FC is a good and stable club, and I look forward to contributing and helping the club as much as I possibly can, so we can have the best possible season, whether it's going far in the cup or even going for a position in the league that can give access to European games next season."
Izzo admitted he confided in the likes of former Reds teammates Nikola Mileusnic and Socceroo Mustafa Amini, who both previously plied their trades the Danish club.
"I know some Australians who have played in Randers, and they only have positive things to say about the club," he added.
"The facilities are great and the people at the club are good people, which is important to me."
Randers take on Vejle BK in their Danish Superliga opener on Monday, 22 July at 12:00am AEST.
