Starting in the Netherlands, where Jordan Bos (cap #632) made a dream debut for Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on Wednesday.

The former Melbourne City full-back played the full game and starred in a 2-1 win over Fenerbahce, setting up the late winner with a pinpoint diagonal cross in added time. Bos impressed across the park, finishing with 84% pass accuracy, six ball recoveries, and an assist to cap off a memorable first appearance at De Kuip Stadium under club legend Robin van Persie.

Feyenoord now head to Turkey for the return leg, with the winner of the tie set to face either Benfica or Nice for a place in the Champions League group stage.

They start their Eredivisie campaign against recent Socceroos call-up Max Balard's NAC Breda on Sunday at 2:45am (AEST).

Over to Scotland, where Martin Boyle (cap #599) played 75 minutes and scored his 100th and 101st goals for Hibernian in a 2-0 win over FK Partizan in the UEFA Conference League Qualification third-round first leg on Friday.

Should Hibs seal progression at Easter Road, they will take on Legia Warsaw or AEK Larnaca for a place in the Conference League, with the latter winning the first leg 4-1 in Cyprus.

They return to Scottish Premiership action on Monday at 12am (AEST) against Kilmarnock.

Elsewhere, Fran Karacic (cap #607) played 85 minutes for Hajduk Split in their first leg 2-1 UEFA Conference League Qualification win over FC Dinamo City on Friday.

Hajduk Split continue their Croatian HNL campaign on Monday at 5am (AEST) against HNK Gorica.

Nick D'Agostino (cap #621) also featured in Conference League qualifying action, coming off the bench in the 80th minute to return for the first time since April as Viking FK lost 3-1 to Turkish outfit İstanbul Başakşehir on Friday.

The 27-year-old forward had been ruled out for the majority of the season due to injury. He could feature again for Viking FK when they face Sandefjord Fotball on Monday at 3:15am (AEST).

The EFL Championship also kicks off this weekend, with a host of Aussies set to feature in a blockbuster opening clash between Swansea City and Middlesbrough on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Cameron Burgess (cap #633) is in line for his competitive debut for Swansea, while Middlesbrough could field a trio of Australians in Riley McGree (cap #509), Sammy Silvera (cap #634), and goalkeeper Tom Glover.

Swansea will be aiming to improve after four straight mid-table finishes, with manager Alan Sheehan looking to build on a positive end to last season after stepping in mid-campaign.

Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have replaced Michael Carrick with Luton's promotion-winning coach Rob Edwards. Boro are entering their ninth consecutive season in the second tier - their longest such spell since the 1950s - and will be desperate to finally break into the play-offs after falling short in the semi-finals twice in recent years.

Elsewhere in the Championship, all eyes will be on Watford as Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) could make his competitive debut when they host Charlton on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST).

The Hornets begin the new campaign under Paulo Pezzolano, who arrives from Spain after guiding Real Valladolid to La Liga promotion in 2024. He replaces Tom Cleverley, who was let go following a disappointing 14th-place finish and poor run of form in the second half of last season. With new leadership and fresh faces, Watford will be aiming for a much-improved campaign.

Lewis Miller (cap #635) could make his competitive debut for Blackburn Rovers when they take on West Brom on Sunday at 12am (AEST). The dynamic full-back joined Rovers from Hibernian, where he made 85 appearances over three seasons, scoring five goals and providing four assists. He has signed through to June 2028 for an undisclosed fee, with an option for a fourth year, pending confirmation of a working visa and international clearance.

Miller became Blackburn’s fifth signing of the summer as the club looks to build on last season’s seventh-place finish and push for a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Valerien Ismael’s side enjoyed a strong pre-season, with wins over Accrington, Everton, the Qatar national team, and Elche, before a final outing against NEC Nijmegen. Since their top-flight relegation 13 years ago, Rovers have repeatedly fallen just short of the play-offs - a hurdle they’ll be determined to clear this time around.

Hayden Matthews (cap #648) could also feature for Portsmouth when they host Oxford United on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

John Mousinho remains at the helm after guiding Pompey to a 16th-place finish last season - their first campaign back in the Championship in over a decade. A slow start plagued them last time around, failing to record a win in their first 10 games and spending much of the early season near the relegation zone. This time, the goal is clear: get off to a stronger start and build toward a mid-table or better finish.

Subway Olyroos Jacob Farrell, Thomas Waddingham, and Adrian Segecic could also appear.

Massimo Luongo (cap #575) could mark his return to Millwall with an appearance against Norwich City on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

The experienced midfielder rejoined the Lions in July after his contract expired with Ipswich Town and will be hoping to help Millwall take the next step in their push for promotion.

Alex Neil is preparing for his first full season in charge at The Den and has already refreshed the squad significantly. Millwall have finished eighth in four of their last eight seasons since returning to the Championship - including last year, where they narrowly missed out on a play-off spot by just two points. The goal now is to finally break into the top six, something they haven't managed since 2001/02.

Callum Elder (cap #614) could also feature for Derby County against Stoke City on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Over to League One, where Gethin Jones (cap #639) could appear again for MK Dons debut on Sunday at 12am (AEST) against Barrow.

In pre-season, Joe Gauci (cap #631) could appear in Aston Villa's penultimate friendly match against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday at 3am (AEST).

In the Belgian Pro League, Ryan Teague (cap #649) is likely to get more minutes when KV Mechelent travel to K.V.C. Westerlo on Sunday morning at 2:15am (AEST).

In the Danish Superliga, Mohamed Toure (cap #636) could start alongside Paul Izzo on Tuesday at 3am (AEST) as Randers travel to Odense Boldklub.

In Serbia, Milos Degenek (cap #585) is set to be in the starting lineup for TSC Backa Topola against his former side FK Crvena zvezda on Sunday at 4am (AEST).

In Italy, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) could feature for Parma as they wrap up their pre-season with a friendly against 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday at 11:30pm (AEST).

Elsewhere in the Eredivisie, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) could start on Monday at 12:45 am (AEST) when Heracles travel to Utrecht in the opening round of the Dutch top flight.

Hrustic recently re-signed for the club, putting pen to paper on a one-year deal. His first stint came in the second half of the 2023/24 season, scoring one goal in fourteen appearances. Last season, the midfielder played in Italy's Serie B with Salernitana, making 23 appearances.

In the Eerste Divisie, Josh Nisbet (#642) could make his competitive debut for Roda JC when they face Helmond Sport at 8:15pm (AEST).

In Scotland, Cameron Devlin's (cap #625) Heart of Midlothian FC also face Dundee United on Monday at 12am (AEST). Subway Olyroo Calem Nieuwenhof could also feature.

In injury news, Ryan Strain (cap #624) has been ruled out for up to two months with a hamstring injury, Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin confirmed ahead of their UEFA Conference League qualifier against SK Rapid Wien.

The setback means the Australia international will miss the September international window, including the Socceroos' Soccer Ashes clash against New Zealand.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos (cap #644) is likely to start for Motherwell when they travel to St Mirren on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

In transfer news, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) has returned to his “home away from home,” rejoining St Mirren just over a year after leaving for Mansfield Town.

The Australia midfielder made 72 appearances and scored four goals during his two-year spell in Paisley before moving to English League One, where he added 43 appearances for Mansfield.

Baccus returns on a two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months, bolstering St Mirren’s midfield depth as they push through for a strong finish in the Scottish Premiership.

He could make his return appearance in black and white against Motherwell on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Ryan McGowan (cap #546) could also feature for Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday at 12am (AEST) against Falkirk FC.

Awer Mabil (cap #597) might start for Castellon when they host Levante on Saturday at 3am (AEST) in a friendly.

Denis Genreau (cap #610) could also feature for Deportivo de La Coruña in pre-season against Le Havre AC on Sunday at 4am (AEST).

Over to the MLS, where Aiden O'Neill (cap #629) should feature again for New York City when they host Columbus on Sunday at 9:30am (AEST).

Kye Rowles (cap #622) might start for DC United against New England on Sunday at 9:30am (AEST).

Elsewhere in the competition, Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) may start for Nashville against St Louis on Sunday at 10:30am (AEST).

In Asia, Thomas Deng (cap #598) should play again for Yokohama F.Marinos when they travel to Tokyo Verdy on Saturday at 7pm (AEST) in the J1 League.

Elsewhere in the J1 League, Mitch Duke (#559) could feature for Machida Zelvia against Vissel Kobe on Sunday at 8pm (AEST).

In Korea's second tier, John Iredale (cap #640) should be in Seoul E-Land's squad for their home tie with Hwaseong FC on Saturday at 8pm (AEST).

Elsewhere in the K2 League, Harrison Delbridge (cap #623) should appear again for Incheon United when they face Busan IPark on Saturday at 8pm (AEST).

Kealey Adamson is also in line to feature for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship on Sunday at 12am (AEST) against Preston.

In Scotland, Calem Nieuwenhof should feature for Heart of Midlothian FC against Dundee United on Monday at 12am (AEST).
