Socceroos Abroad: Bos and Silvera assist, Karacic completes loan move

Sam Silvera’s growing influence in Middlesbrough colours and Jordan Bos’ continued impact in the Eredivisie headlined another busy weekend for the CommBank Socceroos abroad, with both Australians registering assists across FA Cup and league action, while one Socceroo completed a loan move.

CommBank Socceroos

First up, in transfer news, Fran Karacic (cap #607) completed a loan move - with an option to buy - to Croatian outfit NK Osijek. Karacic departs Hajduk Split, who also compete in Croatia's top tier, after joining the side in July 2025.

In Eredivisie, Jordan Bos (cap #632) played another full game and assisted for Feyenoord in a 2-2 draw with SC Heerenveen on Sunday.

It is the 23-year-old's fifth goal involvement of the season as Feyenoord sit 13 points behind league leaders PSV.

Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) also played a full game for Heracles Almelo in a 2-0 loss to Sparta Rotterdam on Monday. The club sits in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Elsewhere in the league, Max Balard (cap #652) played another full game on Sunday as NAC Breda drew 0-0 with FC Groningen.

In the FA Cup third round, Sam Silvera (cap #634) played the full game and assisted the opening goal for Middlesbrough in a 3-1 loss to Fulham on Sunday. 

Elsewhere, Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) played a full game for Watford in a 5-1 loss to Bristol City on Sunday.

Callum Elder (cap #614) was an unused substitute for Derby County in a 3-1 loss to Premier League side Leeds United on Sunday.

Cameron Burgess (cap #633) came on in the 64th minute for Swansea City in a 6-5 penalty loss to West Bromwich Albion on Monday after the match finished 2-2. Burgess scored in the shootout, but it was not enough to progress.

Adrian Segecic played 73 minutes for Portsmouth as they lost 4-1 to Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday. 

Lewis Miller (cap #635) also played a full game for Blackburn Rovers as they lost 4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw with Hull City on Sunday.

Joe Gauci (cap #631) was in goal for Port Vale in a 1-0 win over Fleetwood on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the competition, Gethin Jones (cap #639) played 98 minutes for MK Dons in a 4-3 penalty loss to Oxford United after the match finished 1-1 on Saturday.

In EFL League One, Alex Robertson (cap #630) played 86 minutes for Cardiff City on Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient FC.

In Italy's Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) played all of Parma's 2-1 win over U.S. Lecce on Monday to move into 14th position. 

In Spain, Maty Ryan (cap #555) was in goal for Levante in a 1-1 draw with fifth-placed Espanyol on Monday.

In Scotland, Nicolas Milanovic (cap #651) played 68 minutes for Aberdeen on Monday in a 2-0 loss to Rangers.

Jack Iredale played a full game for Hibernian while Apostolos Stamatelopoulos (cap #644) was an unused substitute for Motherwell on Sunday in a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Cameron Devlin (cap #625) played another full game for Heart of Midlothian FC in a 1-0 win over Dundee on Monday.

Ryan Strain (cap #624) came off the bench in the 60th minute for Dundee United in a 4-0 loss to Celtic on Sunday.

Ryan McGowan (cap #546) also played another full game for Livingston in a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Sunday.

In Spain's second tier, Awer Mabil (cap #597) played 77 minutes for Castellon in a 0-0 draw with Granada CF on Monday.
