Socceroos Abroad: Boyle scores again, Yazbek, Irankunda and Hrustic on target

There was plenty of midweek success for Socceroos abroad across the United States and Europe.

Four Aussies were on target for their respective clubs during midweek action.

Patrick Yazbek opened his Nashville account in style, while Martin Boyle scored his 19th goal of the season for Hibernian. Meanwhile, Ajdin Hrustic and Nestory Irankunda also found the back of the net.

There is another round of important late-season fixtures this weekend. 

Here is a look at the action. 

Subway Socceroos

Starting in Scotland, where Martin Boyle (cap #599) scored Hibernian's first goal, playing 84 minutes in a 2-2 draw with St. Mirren on Thursday Morning. Boyle has now netted 98 goals for the Edinburgh outfit. Lewis Miller (cap #635) and Nectarios Triantis played full games for Hibs. 


The trio could all feature for Hibernian when they host Rangers on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST). 

 


Elsewhere in Scotland on Thursday, Cameron Devlin (cap #625) played a full game for Hearts as they beat St. Johnstone 2-1. The midfielder won five of his six tackles in the match. 

The midfielder should get some minutes on Monday at 12:00am (AEST) against Kilmarnock. 

Ryan Strain (cap #624) assisted Dundee United's only goal in a 3-1 loss to Rangers on Thursday morning. Strain could start against Aberdeen on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST). 

Josh Nisbet (cap #642) played 66 minutes for Ross County as they drew 1-1 with Dundee on Thursday. Nisbet could start on Monday at 12:00am (AEST) against Motherwell. 

In the United States, Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) opened the scoring for Nashville with a sensational strike as the side beat New York Red Bulls 2-1 on Thursday. 


Also, Kye Rowles (cap #622) played a full game for DC United as they drew 0-0 with New York City. Aiden O'Neill (cap #629) came on at halftime for City. 

O'Neill's City face a derby on Sunday at 6:30am (AEST) against New York Red Bulls, while Rowles' DC United face Yazbek's Nashville at 10:30am (AEST). 

Brad Smith (cap #575) played an hour of Cincinnati's 1-0 win over Toronto on Thursday morning. Smith could get on the field against Columbus on Sunday at 9:00 am (AEST). 

In France's Ligue 1, Maty Ryan (cap #555) is likely to start on Sunday at 5:00am (AEST) as RC Lens host Monaco. 

In the German Bundesliga, Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) should be in St. Pauli's squad as they host VfL Bochum on Saturday at 11:30pm (AEST). 

In Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) should be in the Parma squad for their home clash with Napoli on Sunday at 11:00pm (AEST). 

In Serie B, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) opened the scoring for Salernitana with a brilliant free-kick in their 2-0 win over Cittadella on Wednesday morning. The result ensured Salernitana moved out of the confirmed relegation spots, but they still have to win their relegation playoff to stay in the division. 
 


In the English Premier League, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) and Massimo Luongo (cap #575) could feature for Ipswich Town when they travel to Leicester City on Monday at 12:00am (AEST). 

Jason Davidson (cap #545) played a full game for Panserraikos as they drew 1-1 with Athens Kallithea on Thursday morning in the Greek Super League. 

In Denmark, Paul Izzo is likely to be Randers' goalkeeper as they host Copenhagen on Monday at 2:00am (AEST). 

In Switzerland, Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) scored his first goal for the club and Grasshopper's fifth in a 5-0 win over Yverdon on Thursday. The results sees the side remain clear of the relegation places with two matches to play. 
 


The winger could start on Sunday at 4:30am (AEST) against Sion. 

In the Eredivisie, Max Balard played a full game for NAC Breda as they lost 3-0 to NEC Nijmegen on Thursday. Breda now take on Willem II in a massive clash on the final day of the season on Sunday night at 10:30pm (AEST).

In the J1 League, Mitchell Duke (cap #559) could start for Machida Zelvia when they host Kashiwa Reysol on Saturday at 3:00pm (AEST). 

Also, Jason Geria (cap #586) is likely to start for Albirex Niigata when they travel to Okayama on Sunday at 4:00pm (AEST). 

Thomas Deng (cap #598) played all of Yokohama F.Marinos 2-0 loss to Kashiwa Reysol on Wednesday night. Deng could feature on Saturday at 3:00pm (AEST) when Yokohama welcome Kyoto Sanga. 

In the Scottish Championship, Ryan McGowan (cap #546) played all of Livingston's 2-0 win over Partick Thistle in the first leg of their Premiership Qualification Semi-Final. McGowan likely to start again in the second leg on Saturday at 4:45am (AEST). 

Awer Mabil (cap #597) might start for Castellon when they host Eldense on Monday at 12:15am (AEST) in Spain's Segunda Division.

Subway Olyroos

In MLS, Giuseppe Bovalina was subbed on in stoppage time of Vancouver Whitecaps' 2-2 draw with Los Angeles on Monday morning. Bovalina also played a full game for the Whitecaps' reserve team in their 5-0 win over Tacoma Defiance in MLS NEXT Pro. 

Bovalina could make the squad for Vancouver's away trip to Austin on Sunday at 10:30am (AEST). 

In Eerste Divisie, Cameron Peupion played 69 minutes of ADO Den Haag's 2-0 loss to Telstar on Wednesday morning. The side will play their final game of the regular season on Sunday at 12:30am (AEST). 

Jed Drew should be involved for Hartberg when they host WSG Tirol on Sunday at 1:00am (AEST) in the Austrian Bundesliga. 

In Serie B, Jahce Novello made the bench for Cosenza as they lost 3-1 to Spezia on Wednesday.
