Socceroos Abroad: Boyle scores, Triantis and Burgess assist while Ryan secures win over Lyon

There were some standout performers in England and Scotland over the weekend, as Martin Boyle scored his 17th goal of the season, while Cameron Burgess and Nectarios Triantis also picked up assists.

Additionally, Socceroos goalkeepers put in some strong showings in between the sticks, with Maty Ryan, Paul Izzo and Joe Gauci contributing to wins for their respective teams in France, Norway and England.

In Scotland, Martin Boyle (cap #599) opened the scoring for Hibernian as they beat Dundee United 3-1 on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership, playing 84 minutes. It was the forward's 96th goal for the club.


Nectarios Triantis assisted Hibs second goal and played the full match, while Lewis Miller (cap #635) was subbed on in the 84th minute for the side. 

Ryan Strain (cap #624) completed the match for Dundee United. 

Josh Nisbet (cap #642) came on in the 62nd minute of Ross County's 3-1 loss to Hearts on Sunday morning. 

In the English Premier League, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) notched an assist as Ipswich Town came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Everton on Sunday. 

In France's Ligue 1, Maty Ryan (cap #555) was Lens' goalkeeper as they downed Lyon 2-1 on Monday morning. The shot-stopper produced three saves in the win. 

In Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) made the bench again for Parma as they lost 1-0 to Como on Sunday. 

In the J1 League, Jason Geria (cap #586) played a full game for Albirex Niigata as they lost 3-2 to FC Tokyo on Saturday evening. 

Also, Mitchell Duke (cap #559) came on in the 82nd minute for Machida Zelvia in their 1-0 loss Kashima Antlers on Saturday. 

In Denmark, Paul Izzo continued his excellent goal-saving form, making six saves in Randers' 3-2 win against Nordsjaelland on Saturday morning.
