The EFL Championship also kicked off over the weekend as Cameron Burgess (cap #633) made his competitive debut for Swansea, putting in a 90-minute shift as they lost 1-0 to Middlesbrough on Sunday.
Sammy Silvera (cap #634) also played 90 minutes for Boro while goalkeeper Tom Glover was on the bench.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) also made his competitive debut for Watford, coming off the bench in the 63rd minute as they lost 1-0 to Charlton on Saturday.
Lewis Miller (cap #635) was another Socceroo who made his debut in the Championship on Sunday, coming off the bench in the 61st minute for Blackburn Rovers in a 1-0 loss to West Brom.
Over to Portsmouth, where Hayden Matthews (cap #648) was an unused substitute as Subway Olyroo Adrian Segecic fired Pompey to an opening day win over Oxford United on Sunday.
Thomas Waddingham also came off the bench in the 93rd minute, replacing Segecic in the 1-0 win.
Massimo Luongo (cap #575) also marked his return to Millwall with a 93rd-minute appearance in a 2-1 win over Norwich City on Sunday.

As mentioned above, Adrian Segecic made a memorable start to his career in the English Championship. The reigning A-League Golden Boot made an immediate impression for Portsmouth, scoring the only goal in a win over Oxford United on Sunday.
Thomas Waddingham also came off the bench late on.
In the Austrian Bundesliga, Jed Drew was also a match-winner as he played 81 minutes and scored in TSV Hartberg's 1-0 win over FC Blau-Weiß Linz on Sunday.
Kealey Adamson also came off the bench in the 67th minute for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship on Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Preston.
