Socceroos Abroad: Circati secures Serie A status, Karacic and Duke score

Alessandro Circati played another full game as Parma maintained their Serie A status in dramatic fashion, while Fran Karacic and Mitch Duke both found the net, as our Socceroos Abroad delivered standout performances over the weekend.

Starting in Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) played the full game for Parma on Monday as they beat third-placed Atalanta 3-2 to steer themselves well clear of the relegation zone and finish the season in 16th.

Since his return from a serious knee injury, Circati has looked right at home, completing the full 90 minutes back-to-back for Parma, boasting 80% passing accuracy, making 13 clearances, winning 15 duels and accumulating 86 touches in the process.

 

 

In Croatia, Fran Karacic (cap #607) played the full game and scored a goal for NK Lokomotiva in a 3-0 win over HNK Gorica on Sunday.

In the J1 League, Mitchell Duke (cap #559) came off the bench in the 62nd minute and scored in Machida Zelvia's 2-2 draw with his former side Fagiano Okayama on Sunday.
 

 


Also, Jason Geria (cap #586) played the full game as Albirex Niigata returned to J1 League action on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Shonan Bellmare. 

Thomas Deng (cap #598) played the full game for Yokohama F.Marinos as they beat Shimizu S-Pulse 3-1 on Sunday.

In the English Premier League, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) was an unused substitute while Massimo Luongo (cap #575) came off the bench in the 88th minute to make his final appearance for Ipswich Town as they lost 3-1 to West Ham on Monday.

Manager Kieran McKenna recently confirmed that Luongo will leave the Club at the end of his contract this summer.

The 32-year-old was a central figure in Town’s back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League, after joining the Blues in January 2023.

Having previously spent time on loan at Portman Road in 2012, Luongo has played a total of 85 games for the Club, scoring six goals.
 


In Denmark, Paul Izzo was in goal for Randers in their 3-2 loss to FC Midtjylland on Monday to end their season. Mohamed Toure (cap #636) also started and played 60 minutes.

In the United States, Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) played 86 minutes in Nashville's 2-1 win over Toronto on Sunday in the MLS.

Kye Rowles (cap #622) also played another full game on Sunday for DC United as they lost 2-0 to New York Red Bulls.

Aiden O'Neill (cap #629) played another full game for New York City FC on Monday as they beat Chicago 3-1 in the MLS.

In Korea's second tier, John Iredale (cap #640) played the full game and assisted for Seoul E-Land as they beat Hwaseong FC 1-0 on Saturday. 

In Thailand, Kenny Dougall (cap #608) played the full game for Buriram United, while Curtis Good (cap #569) played 65 minutes as they beat Muangthong United FC 3-2 on Saturday to lift the Thai FA Cup.
