Socceroos Abroad: Goals galore as Souttar scores on Leicester return, with Bos, Boyle and Rowles also scoring

There was plenty of goal action for CommBank Socceroos abroad over the weekend, with players targeting strong finishes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Harry Souttar made an impactful return from injury to score for Leicester City, while Kye Rowles buried a late winner for DC United in the MLS, among other scorers during the latest matchweek. 

Here is how all the action played out. 

CommBank Socceroos

Harry Souttar (cap #606) scored on his return for Leicester City, playing a full game as the side drew 1-1 with Millwall in the EFL Championship. It was the defender's first start in nearly 500 days, and his first appearance for the club this season. 

 

In MLS, Kye Rowles (cap #622) scored a dramatic late winner for DC United in a 3-2 win against Orlando, playing a full game on Sunday morning. It was the defender's first goal for the club since joining in 2025. 

 

In the Netherlands, Jordan Bos (cap #632) scored Feyenoord's opening goal, playing 63 minutes in a 3-1 win against Groningen on Sunday morning. Bos has four goals and seven assists this season. 

 

Looking to Scotland, Martin Boyle (cap #599) scored his 10th goal of the season in Hibernian's 2-1 defeat to Hearts on Monday. Ante Suto was subbed on in the 64th minute for the side, while Jack Iredale was on the bench. 

Alessandro Circati (cap #637) helped Parma keep a clean sheet, playing a full game in a 1-0 win against Pisa on Saturday night in Serie A. The defender completed 44 of his 46 passes and made four tackles. 

Shifting to the MLS again, Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) played 75 minutes for Nashville in a 4-2 win against Charlotte on Sunday morning. 

Continuing in the competition, Lucas Herrington (cap #658) played a full game for Colorado in a 3-1 loss to Vancouver on Sunday afternoon. 

Also on Sunday, Aiden O'Neill (cap #629) and Kai Trewin (cap #656) played full games for New York City as they lost 1-0 to Montreal.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Hayden Matthews (cap #648) also made his return from injury, playing for the first time since January, with an hour of action in Portsmouth's 3-1 win against Stoke City on Sunday. 

Also, Mohamed Toure (cap #636) played 78 minutes as Norwich City drew 1-1 with Swansea City on Sunday morning. Cameron Burgess (cap #633) played a full game for Swansea. 

Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) was subbed on in the 63rd minute of Watford's 5-1 loss to Middlesbrough on Saturday evening. Sam Silvera (cap #634) came on in the 83rd minute for Middlesbrough. 

Over in the German Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) played a full game as St. Pauli lost 2-0 to Heidenheim on Saturday night. Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) was subbed on in the 88th minute for the side. St. Pauli are one above the confirmed relegation spots in the competition, currently sitting in the relegation play-off position. 

Elsewhere in Eredivisie, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) played a full game for Heracles in a 2-0 loss to Volendam, which confirmed their relegation to Eerste Divisie on Monday. 

Max Balard (cap #652) played 72 minutes for NAC Breda in a 2-0 loss to Ajax on Sunday morning. 

Shifting to Austria, Jacob Italiano (cap #653) played a full game as Grazer AK lost 1-0 to Wolfsberger on Sunday morning. 

In Poland, Deni Juric (cap #659) came on in the 73rd minute for Wisla Plock as they went down 1-0 to Radomiak Radom on Sunday evening.

Cardiff has one remaining game to play, but has already secured promotion to the EFL Championship for 2027. Moving back to Scotland, Ryan Strain (cap #624) scored for Dundee United as they beat Dundee FC 3-0, playing 84 minutes on Sunday night. It was the fullback's first goal of the campaign, and his first for Dundee United. Also, Ryan McGowan (cap #546) played a full game for Livingston in a 2-0 win against Livingston.

In Norway, Gianni Stensness (cap #617) scored Viking's second goal in a 2-1 win against Fredrikstad on Sunday morning. It was the defender's second goal of the season.

In EFL League Two, Gethin Jones (cap #639) played 72 minutes in a 3-0 win for MK Dons against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday evening. MK Dons sit at the top of the competition by one point heading into the final round, having already secured promotion to EFL League One. 

Anthony Kalik was subbed on in stoppage time for Hajduk Split as they drew 0-0 with Rijeka on Monday in Croatia's HNL. 

In Czechia, Garang Kuol (cap #627) came on after 74 minutes for Sparta Prague in a 2-0 defeat to Mohemians 1905 on Sunday morning.
