Several Socceroos were involved in midweek action across Europe.
In the Netherlands, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) scored a spectacular free-kick for Heracles as they went out on penalties to Go Ahead Eagles in the KNVB Cup. The midfielder put Heracles into the lead in the 62nd minute, but the scores were locked at 2-2 at full time. Hrustic was one of four players to miss from the spot in the shootout for the team. Heracles take on Twente on Monday at 12:30 am (AEDT) back in the Eredivisie.
In Italy’s Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) played a full game as captain and helped keep a clean sheet for Parma as they held title chasers Napoli to a 0-0 draw on Thursday morning. The defender is likely to start against Genoa on Sunday at 10:30 pm (AEDT).
In Scotland, Cameron Devlin (cap #625) played until stoppage time as Hearts secured a 2-0 win against St. Mirren on Thursday morning. Hearts now sit six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
