The Headliners

Irankunda impresses in Sporting win

Nestory Irankunda continued his form from the international window, starting for the second time in LIga Portugal and assisting the crucial equaliser in their 3-1 victory over Braga.

The assist was a pinpoint chipped cross to the back post, allowing teammate Luis Suarez to head home from close range. He completed seven progressive carries in the game and was an attacking outlet from the left-hand side.

The win took Sporting up to 18 points and is an important momentum builder ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash midweek.

Result: Braga 1 - 3 Sporting CP

Circati helps Benfica to clean sheet

In his maiden Primeira League start for Benfica, Alessandro Circati played 90 minutes in a 2-0 triumph over Vitoria de Guimarães. The centre-back, who turned 23 over the weekend, delivered an assured display, completing 90% of his passes, made five clearances and won three of his four duels, while never being dribbled past.

Circati will be targeting further minutes when the Eagles return to action on Friday in the UEFA Europa League against Celtic FC.

Result: Benfica 2-0 Vitoria de Guimarães

Metcalfe produces assist in St Pauli home win

Connor Metcalfe grabbed his first assist of the 2. Bundesliga season in a solid victory at home to Karlsruher. The 26-year-old played 82 minutes and was the architect behind the opening goal. He also completed 21/29 passes, made three defensive contributions and produced six recoveries.

Result: St Pauli 2-0 Karlsruher

Cristian Volpato returned to the matchday squad for Sassuolo following a hamstring injury he picked up in early September against Bologna. The 22-year-old was an unused substitute in his side's Serie A home draw against AC Milan and will be looking to return to the impressive form he showed prior to that setback.

Result: Sassuolo 1-1 AC Milan

Marcus Younis returned to his club for the first time since becoming CommBank Socceroo #662 against Brazil and registered an assist in Brøndby dominant win against Lyngby in the Danish Superliga. The 21-year-old started and played the first half, setting up the second goal with a low cross that was met with a clinical volley. Younis has two goals and two assists across all competitions in 2026/27.

Result: Brøndby 5-2 Lyngby

Gianni Stensness helped his Viking FK side to a 2-0 victory against Brann to help keep them top of the Norwegian Eliteserian.

Stensness has been a key part of the team's campaign in the league, and their qualification into the UEFA Champions League. The 27-year-old told post-match media that wins like this one feel the best after his side went down to ten players in the first half.

They take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League midweek.

Result: Brann 0 - 2 Viking FK
