Socceroos Abroad: Irankunda assists in England, Yazbek's Nashville knocks Messi's Miami out of cup

There was more midweek action for CommBank Socceroos abroad, with Nestory Irankunda picking up an assist for Watford in England, while Patrick Yazbek's Nashville held Lionel Messi's Inter Miami to a draw in America.

With several big clashes coming in Europe and Asia this weekend, here is the latest CommBank Socceroos abroad news.

Starting with the EFL Championship, Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) assisted Watford’s second goal in a 3-1 win against Wrexham on Wednesday morning. It adds to the winger’s good run of form, having scored last weekend. Watford host Leicester City on Sunday at 2:00 am (AEDT).

In the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16, Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) played a full game for Nashville as they drew 1-1 with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. The result sends Yazbek's Nashville into the quarter-finals of the competiition after they knocked Messi's Miami out after winning on aggregate. The midfielder could get a start back in the MLS against Orlando on Sunday at 9:15 (AEDT).

Continuing in the MLS, recent call-up Lucas Herrington could start for Colorado Rapids away to Sporting KC on Sunday at 11:30 am (AEDT). The 18-year-old has started all four matches for the Rapids this season.

Kye Rowles (cap #622) is in line for a start as DC United travel to Atlanta United on Sunday at 10:30 am (AEDT).

In other MLS action, Kai Trewin (cap #656) and Aiden O'Neill (cap #629) could start for New York City at home to Inter Miami on Monday at 4:00 am (AEDT).

Elsewhere in the English Championship, Riley McGree (cap #609) is set to start for Middlesbrough when they travel to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday at 11:30 pm (AEDT). Cameron Burgess (cap #633) should start for Swansea City at home to Coventry City on Sunday at 4:15 am (AEDT).

In the EFL League One, Alex Robertson (cap #630) played 62 minutes for Cardiff City as they lost 2-0 to Wycombe Wanderers on Wednesday. The midfielder is likely to start on Saturday at 11:30 pm (AEDT) against Blackpool.

Continuing in League One on Wednesday, Joe Gauci (cap #631) was the goalkeeper for Port Vale in their 3-2 loss to Blackpool. Gauci is expected to start on Sunday at 2:00 am (AEDT) when Port Vale welcome Bolton Wanderers.

In Spain’s La Liga, Maty Ryan (cap #555) played a full game for Levante in their 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday morning. Ryan should be in goal for Levante’s home game against Real Oviedo on Sunday at 4:30 am (AEDT).

Jacob Italiano (cap #653) could be in line for a start in the Austrian Bundesliga as Grazer AK take on WSG Tirol on Sunday at 3:00 am (AEDT).

In the UEFA Conference League, Garang Kuol (cap #627) came on in the 81st minute of Sparta Prague's 4-0 loss to AZ Alkmaar on Friday morning as they were knocked out at the Round of 16 stage. The attacker could get some minutes on Monday at 2:30 am (AEDT) against Karvina back in the Czech top flight.
