Socceroos Abroad: Irankunda grabs assist, Ryan seeks third-straight win and clean sheet

In the Swiss Super League, Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) starred for Grasshopper in their 2-2 draw with Lausanne on Wednesday morning. The winger assisted the side’s first goal while also creating three chances in his 81 minutes on the pitch.

Irankunda will push for another start on Sunday at 4:00am (AEDT) against Lugano.

 


In the Indian Super League, Jamie Maclaren (cap #584) notched a brace in Mohun Bagan SG’s 3-0 win over Punjab on Thursday morning. Jason Cummings (cap #626) was subbed on in the 77th minute and assisted Maclaren’s second goal late on. Meanwhile, Dimitri Petratos (cap #593) remained on the bench for the side.

 


Ryan McGowan (cap #546) played a full game for Livingston as they beat Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 on Thursday in the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The defender could start again on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT) in the Scottish Cup when his side host Cove Rangers.  

In England, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) and Massimo Luongo (cap #571) could feature for Ipswich Town when they take on Coventry in the 4th Round of the FA Cup on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT).

In the EFL Championship, Alex Robertson (cap #630) is likely to start for Cardiff City when they face Stoke City on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT).

Elsewhere in England’s second tier, Hayden Matthews (cap #648) might feature for Portsmouth in their away trip to title-chasing Sheffield United on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT).

Also, Callum Elder (cap #614) could start for Derby County against Norwich City at the same time.

In EFL League One, Joe Gauci (cap #631) should be the goalkeeper for Barnsley in their match against Stockport County on Saturday at 11:30pm (AEDT).

Samuel Silvera (cap #634) might push for a start for Blackpool as they take on Burton Albion on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT).

Furthermore, Gethin Jones (cap #639) could be in action for Bolton Wanderers as they host Crawley Town at the same time. 

Finally, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) could start for Mansfield Town when they host Northampton Town on Saturday at 6:45am (AEDT).

In the Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) should start for St. Pauli as they travel to RB Leipzig on Monday at 3:30am (AEDT).

In Serie B, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) might get some minutes for Salernitana when they travel to take on Brescia on Saturday at 6:30am (AEDT) and will be aiming for successive wins to climb away from the relegation zone.

Milos Degenek (cap #585) could be in line for some game time on Sunday at 3:00am (AEDT) as TSC Backa Topola play Mladost Lucani in the Serbian Super Liga.

Denis Genreau (cap #610) could debut for Deportivo La Coruna when they host Almeria on Monday at 4:30am (AEDT) in LaLiga 2.

Staying in the Segunda División, Awer Mabil (cap #597) has signed with CD Castellon on an 18-month deal. Mabil could be in line for some minutes when Castellon face Racing Ferrol on Sunday at 12:00am (AEDT).

 


In Eredivisie, Max Balard is expected to be involved for NAC Breda in their away tie with RKC Waalwijk on Monday at 12:30am (AEDT).

Maty Ryan (cap #555) is likely to start for RC Lens when they take on Nice on Sunday at 3:00am (AEDT). The Subway Socceroos skipper has notched a pair of clean sheets and two wins in his first two appearances with the Ligue 1 side.

In the Saudi Pro League, Craig Goodwin (cap #562) is set to start for Al-Wehda as they face Al-Orobah on Saturday at 12:05am (AEDT). The 33-year-old has five goals and as many assists in 17 matches this campaign.

In the Belgium Pro League, Jordan Bos (cap #632) should start for Westerlo against Aiden O’Neill’s (cap #629) Standard Liege on Monday at 4:30am (AEDT). The dynamic full-back has been in scintillating form of late with three goals and two assists in his previous seven league games.

Jason Davidson (cap #545) could be involved in Panserraikos’ Greek Super League match against second-placed AEK Athens on Monday at 5:30am (AEDT). 

In the Scottish Premiership, Martin Boyle (cap #599) and Lewis Miller (cap #635) are set to be involved for Hibernian when they travel to face Ayr United in the Scottish Cup on Saturday at 6:45am (AEDT).

Dylan McGowan (cap #590) could start for Hamilton Academical when they travel to St. Johnstone in the Cup on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT).

Cameron Peupion was subbed on in the 58th minute of ADO Den Haag’s 2-1 win over De Graafschap on Tuesday morning in Eerste Divisie. Peupion is set to be involved again on Saturday at 6:00am (AEDT) against FC Volendam.

Thomas Waddingham could get some minutes for Portsmouth when they play Sheffield United in the EFL Championship on Sunday at 2:00am (AEDT).

Nectarios Triantis could feature for Hibernian in the Scottish Cup against Ayr United on Saturday at 6:45am (AEDT).
