There were plenty of goal contributions among our Socceroos abroad this weekend as many wrote headlines across European football.
Jackson Irvine guided his St Pauli team to a crucial win in Germany, Aiden O'Neill continued his fine form, Lewis Miller and Mohamed Toure bagged goals, and Mitch Langerak lifted silverware in Japan.

In the Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine (#568) starred for St Pauli in their 2-0 win over Hoffenheim on Sunday. The St Pauli skipper assisted both goals, which lifted his side out of the relegation places.
In Belgium’s First Division A, Aiden O’Neill (cap #629) continued his excellent form, picking up an assist and completing a full game for Standard Liege as they beat St Truiden 2-1 on Sunday. The midfielder also completed 46 of his 51 passes - an impressive 90% pass accuracy rate.
Mohamed Toure (cap #636) had an excellent 71 minutes for Randers in their 4-1 win over Sonderjyske on Sunday in the Danish Superligaen. Toure notched a goal and an assist for the team and is now ranked ninth among under-21 players for goal contributions per 90 minutes (per CIES Football Obs). Paul Izzo was the goalkeeper for Randers.
Also in the competition, John Iredale (cap #640) scored in his 86 minutes for AaB as they drew 3-3 with Vejle Boldklub on Monday. It means the striker now has back-to-back goals in the competition.
Mitch Langerak (cap #566) helped Nagoya Grampus secure the J. League Cup against Albirex Niigata on Saturday afternoon. The goalkeeper pulled off several important saves in a 3-3 draw as the game went to penalties. Langerak then converted Nagoya’s second spot-kick on their way to lifting the trophy.
Thomas Deng (cap #598) came on in the 114th minute for Albirex and also scored his penalty in the shootout.
Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) played from the 66th minute of Bayern Munich II’s 5-2 win over Burghausen on Saturday night in Regionalliga Bayern. The attacker scored less than two minutes after coming on.
In the EFL Championship, Harry Souttar (cap #606) helped keep another clean sheet for Sheffield United in their 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. Souttar demonstrated his quality at the back with seven clearances and two interceptions across his full game.
In the Scottish Premiership, Lewis Miller (cap #635) gave Hibernian the lead in their 1-1 draw with Dundee United on Monday. Miller played an hour for Hibs, while Martin Boyle (cap #599) was taken off in stoppage time for the side.
Ryan Strain (cap #624) played the first half of the game for Dundee United. Strain’s Dundee restored parity in the dying embers to see points shared with Hibs.
Also on Sunday, Callum Elder (cap #614) played the second half of Derby County’s 2-1 loss to Stoke City in the Championship.
Kusini Yengi (cap #638) played 67 minutes in Portmouth’s 1-1 draw with Hull City. Samuel Silvera (cap #634) came on for Portsmouth in the 75th minute.
Finally, on Sunday, Riley McGree (cap #509) played 75 minutes for Middlesbrough as they lost 3-0 to Coventry. The side were reduced to 10 players midway through the first half.
In the English Premier League, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) played all of Ipswich Town’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City. The defender had a solid game, winning five of six aerial duels and making nine passes into the final third. Massimo Luongo (cap #571) was on the bench for Ipswich.
Elsewhere in Scotland’s top flight, Kye Rowles (cap #622) played a full game for Hearts as they beat St Johnstone 2-1 on Sunday. Cameron Devlin (cap #625) was subbed on in the 57th minute for the side.
Apostolos Stamatelopoulos (cap #644) played 63 minutes for Motherwell as they lost 2-1 to Rangers on Monday.
Also, Josh Nisbet (cap #642) played all of Ross County’s 0-0 draw with St Mirren.
In the Scottish Championship on Sunday, Ryan McGowan (cap #546) played a full game for Livingston as they drew 1-1 with Queen’s Park.
Elsewhere in the competition, Dylan McGowan (cap #590) scored Hamilton Academical’s fourth in a 4-0 win over Airdrieonians on Sunday morning. McGowan came off the bench in the 33rd minute for the side.
Maty Ryan (cap #555) was on the bench for Roma’s 3-2 loss to Hellas Verona on Monday in Serie A.
In Belgium’s First Division A, Jordan Bos (cap #632) was subbed on in the 74th minute for Westerlo as they beat FCV Dender EH 2-0 on Saturday morning.
In Italy’s Serie B, Ajdin Hrustic played a full game for Salernitana as they drew 1-1 with Cosenza on Monday morning.
