Socceroos Abroad: McGree scores first of the season in England, Bos assists in the Netherlands

There were several Aussie scorers in Scotland too, with Martin Boyle adding another to his account for the campaign.

CommBank Socceroos

Starting in the EFL Championship, Riley McGree (cap #509) scored his first goal of the season, playing 86 minutes of Middlesbrough's 4-1 win over Hull City on Saturday morning. Sam Silvera (cap #634) came on after 68 minutes in the match. 


On Monday, in the Eredivisie, Jordy Bos (cap #632) picked up an assist after coming on in the 62nd minute of Feyenoord's 6-1 win against PEC Zwolle, which saw the side consolidate second position. 

Shifting to Scotland, Martin Boyle (cap #599) opened the scoring for Hibernian in a 3-0 win over Falkirk on Sunday. November window call-up Jack Iredale played a full game in defence for Hibs. 
 


On Monday, Cameron Devlin (cap #625) played a full game for Hearts as they downed Celtic 2-1. The result ensures the side sit at the top of the Scottish Premiership, three points ahead of Celtic with a game in hand. 

Continuing the Scottish scoring trend, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) scored St. Mirren's second goal in a 2-0 win over Dundee United, after coming on around the hour mark for the team on Sunday morning. Ryan Strain (cap #624) played 82 minutes for United. 

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos (cap #644) also got on the scoresheet on Sunday for Motherwell as they beat Livingston 3-0. Ryan McGowan (cap #546) came on in the 70th minute for Livingston. 

Moving back to the English Championship, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) contributed to a clean sheet for Swansea City in a much-needed 2-0 win over Oxford United on Sunday. It was the Welsh team's first victory since late October. 

Lewis Miller (cap #635) started for Blackburn Rovers after their match against Sheffield Wednesday was abandoned after 59 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch. Blackburn led 1-0 at the time. 

Hayden Matthews (cap #648) also started for Portsmouth against Charlton Athletic, with the match abandoned as well at 0-0 after 12 minutes, due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

Callum Elder (cap #614) played until stoppage time for Derby County in a 3-1 loss to Leicester City on Saturday evening. 

Joe Gauci (cap #631) was on the bench for Port Vale's 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers on Sunday morning in the FA Cup. 

Shifting to Germany, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) played a full game as St. Pauli drew 1-1 with Koln on Sunday morning. Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) was subbed on in the 68th minute for the side. 

In Denmark, Paul Izzo (cap #650) was in goal for Randers as they lost 2-1 to AGF. Mohamed Toure (cap #636) came on after 56 minutes for the side. 

Later on Sunday morning, back in the Netherlands, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) played a full game for Heracles as they snatched a last-gasp 1-1 draw against Telstar. 

Continuing in the Netherlands top flight, Max Balard (cap #652) played 85 minutes for NAC Breda in a 1-0 loss to Sparta Rotterdam on Monday. 

Moving to Croatia, Fran Karacic (cap #607) was on the bench for Hajduk Split as they drew 1-1 with Dynamo Zagreb on Sunday. 

Back in the FA Cup, Gethin Jones (cap #639) played an hour for MK Dons in a 3-1 win against Oldham Athletic on Sunday. 

In EFL League One, Alex Robertson (cap #630) came on after 59 minutes for Cardiff City in a 3-2 win over Huddersfield on Saturday night.  

In the Czech First League, Garang Kuol (cap #627) was subbed on in the 62nd minute for Sparta Prague in a 1-0 win against Sigma Olomouc on Sunday morning. 

In Austria, Marco Tilio (cap #616) remained on the bench for Rapid Wien as they lost 2-1 to Ried on Sunday. 

Moving back to the Netherlands, Josh Nisbet (#642) played a full game for Roda JC Kerkrade as the side lost 3-1 to Jong AZ Alkmaar on Saturday morning in Eerste Divisie. 

In Spain's second tier, Awer Mabil (cap #597) played 79 minutes for Castellon as they beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-1 on Monday. 

In Japan, Mitch Duke (cap #559) played the first half of Machida Zelvia's 1-0 loss to Kashiwa Reysol on Saturday afternoon, while later on, Thomas Deng (cap #598) came on in the 64th minute for Yokohama F.Marinos in a 2-1 loss to Kashima Antlers. 

Finishing in Asia, Kenny Dougall (cap #608) played a full game for Buriram United as the side beat Kanchanaburi Power 3-1 on Saturday night.
