Socceroos Abroad: Miller opens Blackburn account in England, Hrustic provides again in the Netherlands

Over the weekend for our Socceroos abroad, Lewis Miller opened his Blackburn account in England, with Ajdin Hrustic providing his sixth assist of the season. 

In other weekend action, Mitch Duke lifted silverware in Japan, and Jackson Irvine earned his first start of the season in Germany.

Beginning in the EFL Championship. Lewis Miller (cap #635) scored his first goal for Blackburn Rovers as the side edged past Preston North End 2-1 on Saturday morning. 
 


In the Eredivisie, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) added another assist to his Heracles account for the season, playing a full game as the side beat Go Ahead Eagles 4-2 on Sunday morning. The midfielder now has six assists.

In Japan, Mitch Duke (cap #559) picked up an assist playing 65 minutes in Machida Zelvia's 3-1 win over Vissel Kobe on Saturday afternoon as they claimed the Emperor's Cup.
 


In Germany's Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) made his first start of the season for St. Pauli, playing 64 minutes of their 1-0 loss to Union Berlin on Monday. Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) came on after 73 minutes for the side.

Moving to Spain, Maty Ryan (cap #555) was the goalkeeper for Levante's 1-0 loss to Valencia on Saturday morning. 

In the MLS Cup playoffs, Aiden O’Neill (cap #629) missed New York City's 1-0 Eastern Conference Semi-final away win over Philadelphia Union due to the accumulation of yellow cards. He is likely to be back in action in the Eastern Conference Final against Inter Miami next weekend.

In the EFL Championship action, Nestory Irankunda (cap #643) was subbed on after 35 minutes for Watford in their 3-2 win over Derby County on Sunday. Callum Elder (cap #614) played a full game for Derby. 

Riley McGree (cap #509) came on after 62 minutes in Middlesbrough's 1-1 draw with Oxford United. Sam Silvera (cap #634) came on at half time for the team. 

Cameron Burgess (cap #633) played a full game for Swansea City as they lost 3-0 to Bristol City on Saturday night. 

Finally, Hayden Matthews (cap #648) made the Portsmouth bench for their 3-1 victory over Millwall on Sunday. 

Continuing in the Netherlands top flight, Max Balard (cap #652) played 80 minutes for NAC Breda as they lost 1-0 to PSV Eindhoven.

In Norway,  Gianni Stensness (cap #617) came on in the 88th minute as Viking edged out Fredrikstad 1-0 on Monday. Viking are one point clear at the top of Eliteserien heading into the final match.

Looking to Serbia, Milos Degenek (cap #585) was on the FK Backa Topola bench as they drew 1-1 with Radnicki Nis on Monday.

In EFL League One, Joe Gauci (cap #631) was in goal for Port Vale, with the team going down 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle on Sunday. 

Also in the competition on Sunday, Alex Robertson (cap #630) was subbed on in the 58th minute for Cardiff City in their 3-1 win against Northampton Town. Robertson has been receiving consistent minutes for Cardiff since his return from injury in late October. 

In EFL League Two, Gethin Jones (cap #639) came on after the hour mark for MK Dons, with the side drawing 2-2 with Tranmere Rovers on Sunday. It was the defender's first minutes since late August. 

Shifting to Scotland, Martin Boyle (cap #599) played 71 minutes for Hibernian as they beat Dundee FC 2-0 on Sunday. November call-up Jack Iredale was a rock at the back in his full game for Hibs, making six tackles as he contributed to a clean sheet. 

Cameron Devlin (cap #625) played a full game for Hearts as they went down 1-0 to Aberdeen. Nicolas Milanovic (cap #651) was subbed on in the 84th minute for Aberdeen. 

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos (cap #644) made an instant impact off the bench for Motherwell, scoring five minutes after coming on against Kilmarnock on Sunday. The striker has now exceeded his goal-scoring total from last season. 

Ryan Strain (cap #624) returned to the Dundee United team, coming on at halftime in their 3-0 loss to Falkirk on Sunday. 

Ryan McGowan (cap #546) earned his first minutes since September, playing from the hour mark of Livingston's 2-1 loss to Rangers on Sunday. 

Finally in Scotland, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) was taken off in stoppage time of St. Mirren's 1-0 loss to Celtic on Sunday morning. 

In Spain's La Liga 2, Awer Mabil (cap #597) played all of Castellon's 3-1 win over Andorra on Sunday morning.

Moving to Croatia, Fran Karacic (cap #607) was on Hajduk Split's bench for their 5-0 loss to Rijeka on Sunday.

In Austria, Marco Tilio’s (cap #616) came on at halftime for Rapid Wien as they lost 2-1 to Gazer AK on Monday. 

In the Czech First League, Garang Kuol (cap #627) played 76 minutes in his first start for Sparta Prague in a 2-1 win against Mlada Boleslav on Sunday.

Moving back to the Netherlands, Josh Nisbet (#642) played a full game for Roda JC Kerkrade in their 1-1 draw with FC Emmen on Sunday.

Finishing with the European action in Hungary, Daniel Arzani (cap #596) made Ferencvaros' bench as they lost 3-1 to Nyiregyhaza Spartacus on Sunday. 

In Thailand, Kenny Dougall (cap #608) played a full game for Buriram United in their 5-0 win against Muang Thong United on Saturday evening.

Concluding in Asia, in K2 League on Sunday afternoon, John Iredale (cap #640) opened the scoring, playing an hour for Seoul E-Land in a 6-0 win over Ansan Greeners. The victory sees Iredale's team into the promotion play-offs. The 26-year-old finishes the regular campaign with 10 goals and one assist.

Elsewhere in the competition, Harrison Delbridge (cap #623) was on Incheon United's bench for their 1-0 loss to Cheongju. Despite the defeat, United finished six points clear at the top and have been promoted to the top division of South Korean football for next season. 

Lastly, former Socceroo Kevin Muscat guided Shanghai Port to back-to-back Chinese Super League titles, finishing two points clear of Shanghai Shenhua.
