Socceroos Abroad: Ryan set to face Lyon, O'Neill in line for NYCFC debut, EFL season draws to a close

There were some midweek highlights this week for our Socceroos abroad, including midfielder Keanu Baccus getting on the scoresheet.

Also, Jackson Irvine is set to miss the rest of the season for St. Pauli, and several Socceroos finish up their club campaigns this weekend in the EFL Championship and EFL League One. 

Here is a look at the action ahead of us.

In France's Ligue 1, Maty Ryan (cap #555) should be the goalkeeper for Lens as they travel to Lyon on Monday at 1:15 am (AEST).

In Scotland, Martin Boyle (cap #599) and Nectarios Triantis are likely to start against Ryan Strain's (cap #624) Dundee United on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). Lewis Miller (cap #635) could be back in the Hibernian squad for the game as well.

Also, Cameron Devlin's (cap #625) Hearts face Josh Nisbet's (cap #642) Ross County at the same time.

In the English Premier League, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) and Massimo Luongo (cap #575) could feature for Ipswich Town when they travel to Everton on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). 

In injury news, St. Pauli's Jackson Irvine (cap #568) has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a foot injury. We wish Jackson all the best in his recovery.
 

 


Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) is suspended for St. Pauli's German Bundesliga clash with VfB Stuttgart tomorrow. 

In Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) was on the bench for Parma on Tuesday morning as they drew 2-2 with Lazio. The defender could get some minutes on Saturday at 11:00 pm (AEST) against Como. 

Jason Davidson (cap #545) played all of Panserraikos' 3-0 Greek Super League loss to NFC Volos on Tuesday morning. Davidson is likely to start on Monday at 12:00 am (AEST) against the same opposition. 

In the J1 League, Jason Geria (cap #586) was subbed on in the 60th minute of Albirex Niigata's 1-0 win over Sanfrecce on Tuesday evening. Geria is likely to play on Saturday at 3:00 pm (AEST) against FC Tokyo.

Also, Mitchell Duke (cap #559) played the first half of Machida Zelvia's 2-1 win over Cerezo Osaka on Tuesday. Duke should be in the squad against Kashima Antlers on Saturday at 4:00 pm (AEST).

Thomas Deng (cap #598) could start on Sunday at 4:00 pm (AEST) when Yokohama F.Marinos face Cerezo Osaka. 

In EFL League One, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) scored for Mansfield Town in their 4-2 win over Peterborough United on Thursday morning. The midfielder has four goals and seven assists in the competition this season. 
 


Baccus' Mansfield finish their campaign away to Exeter City on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). 

Craig Goodwin (cap #562) played 65 minutes of Al-Wehda's 2-1 win over Al Akhdoud on Friday morning in Saudi Pro League. Goodwin is likely to get more minutes on Sunday at 2:25 am (AEST) as Al-Wehda host Al Fateh. 

In Denmark, Paul Izzo should be in goal for Randers' home clash with Nordsjælland on Saturday at 3:00 am (AEST). 

In Croatia, Fran Karacic (cap #607) is likely to start for NK Lokomotiva as they welcome NK Istra 1961 on Sunday at 2:45 am (AEST). 

In League One, Joe Gauci (cap #631) could start in goal for Barnsley as they take on Reading on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). 

Samuel Silvera (cap #634) could be involved in Blackpool's final game of the season against Bristol Rovers on Sunday at 12:00 am (AEST). 

Also, Gethin Jones (cap #639) might start for Bolton Wanderers when they finish their season at home to Stevenage at the same time. 

In Korea's second tier, John Iredale (cap #640) will look to add to his goal tally when Seoul E-Land travel to Seongnam on Sunday at 3:00 pm (AEST). 

Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) played a full game for Salernitana as they beat Spezia 2-0 on Friday morning. Hrustic could be in the squad to face Mantova on Sunday at 11:00 pm (AEST). 

In MLS, Kye Rowles (cap #622) might start on Sunday at 9:30 am (AEST) when DC United host Colorado Rapids. 

Elsewhere in the United States, Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) might earn a start as Nashville take on Atlanta United on Sunday at 4:45 am (AEST). 

Finally in America, Aiden O'Neill's (cap #629) could be in line for an MLS debut as his New York City FC side host Brad Smith's (cap #575) FC Cincinnati on Monday at 5:00 am (AEST). 

In the Scottish Championship, Ryan McGowan (cap #546) is likely to start against Partick Thistle on Saturday at 4:45 am (AEST). 

Dylan McGowan (cap #590) could also start for Hamilton Academical as they travel to Falkirk at the same time. 

Kenny Dougall (cap #608) played all of Buriram United's 7-0 win over Nong Bua Pitchaya on Wednesday night as they secured the Thai Premier League title. Buriram finished a point ahead of Bangkok United and have now won the competition ten times.

Jed Drew played 61 minutes of Hartberg's 1-0 defeat to Wolfsberger in the Austrian Cup Final on Friday morning. The winger should be in Hartberg's squad for their home tie with Altach on Sunday at 10:30 pm (AEST). 

Also in Austria, Jacob Italiano is set to start for Grazer AK as they host SK Austria Klagenfurt on Saturday at 3:30 am (AEST) in the Bundesliga. 

Giuseppe Bovalina was on the bench for Vancouver Whitecaps in their 3-1 second-leg win over Inter Miami as the side advanced through to the CONCACAF Champions Cup Final. Bovalina could get minutes on Sunday at 11:30 am (AEST) in MLS against Real Salt Lake.
