Four-Midable Mo: Toure scores fourth of the season for Norwich

Mohamed Toure scored Norwich’s second goal in their 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday to increase his goal tally to four across all competitions this season.

The 22-year-old found himself on the end of an exquisite backheel assist, calmly finishing his chance past the goalkeeper to give the Canaries the lead. The Aussie forward has been in red hot form for this entire calendar year and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down yet.

Norwich is now twelfth in the EFL Championship with two wins and three losses from five games.

Result: Sheffield United 1 - 3 Norwich City

Ryan saves penalty in second clean sheet of the season

Maty Ryan stood tall for Levante, saving a penalty to help his side keep a clean sheet against Málaga.

Chupe had a golden chance to give the home side the lead in the ninth minute but Ryan held his nerve to make the save straight down the middle and preserve the stalemate.

It is Ryan’s second clean sheet of the season after four games in La Liga, helping lift Levante to tenth.

Result: Málaga 0 – 0 Levante

Circati makes league debut in Portugal

Young defender Alessandro Circati had another milestone weekend, coming off the bench to make his Liga Portugal debut for SL Benfica on Saturday.

The result was far from secure when the 22-year-old entered the field of play with 30 minutes to go but he helped see the match out with a clean sheet and a solid performance.

The ever-reliable defender recently moved from Italy to Portugal for the next stage of his development and he is already off to a very solid beginning.

Result: Maritimo 0 – 3 SL Benfica

Other Standouts

Nishan Velupillay made his starting debut for FC Ingolstadt against Alemannia Aachen. Unfortunately, a red card in the fourth minute for his teammate meant the match was an uphill battle from the start, and ultimately ended in a 3-0 defeat.

Result: FC Ingolstadt 0 – 3 Alemannia Aachen

Aiden O’Neill made his return from injury to play 20 minutes off the bench for New York City FC in the MLS. He played against CommBank Socceroos teammate Patrick Yazbek, who started for Nashville in their scoreless draw.

Result: New York City 0 – 0 Nashville SC

Lucas Herrington added another 20 minutes to his Premier League career, coming off the bench in Hull City’s scoreless draw with Aston Villa. Remarkably, Hull remain unbeaten in three Premier League games this season. Herrington will be hoping to start for the second time for his club during the EFL Cup midweek.

Result: Hull City 0 – 0 Aston Villa
