Socceroos Abroad: Toure's incredible form continues as Degenek scores, Elder assists

Mohamed Toure’s extraordinary start to life in England continued over the weekend while Milos Degenek also found the net in Cyprus, headlining another busy round of Socceroos Abroad action.

Starting in the FA Cup fourth round, where Mohamed Toure (cap #636) came off the bench in the 61st minute and continued his extraordinary start at Norwich City, scoring his fifth goal since joining the Canaries in their 3-1 FA Cup win over West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. 

Elsewhere, Lewis Miller (cap #635) came off the bench at half time in Blackburn Rovers' 3-1 win over QPR on Sunday but came off quickly after suffering an Achilles injury, which occurred off the ball.

Miller has been almost ever-present for Blackburn in the Championship this season, featuring in 29 of 32 matches so far.

Cameron Burgess (cap #633) played a full game for Swansea City in a 2-0 loss to Callum Elder's (cap #614) Derby County on Sunday, with Elder also completing the full match while recording an assist and clean sheet as the Rams strengthened their push for the Championship playoffs.

The result moved Derby into sixth on the table, with Elder now up to five assists and seven clean sheets for the 2025/26 campaign.

Adrian Segecic also played a full game for Portsmouth in a 1-0 loss to Sheffield United on Sunday.

In EFL League One, Alex Robertson (cap #630) played 89 minutes and registered an assist in Cardiff City’s 3-1 win over Luton Town on Sunday, extending the Bluebirds’ unbeaten league run to eleven matches as they edge closer to automatic promotion.

The 22-year-old midfielder has now featured in 19 league matches this season, averaging around 62 minutes per appearance as he continues to earn consistent game time in Wales.

In League Two, Gethin Jones (cap #639) played a full game for MK Dons in a 1-0 win over Newport County on Sunday.

In the Cypriot First Division, Milos Degenek (cap #585) played a full game for APOEL FC and scored his first goal for the club as they lost 3-2 to Ethnikos Achna FC on Monday.

In the Eredivisie, Jordan Bos (cap #632) played another full game for Feyenoord in a 1-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.

Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589) played a full game for Heracles Almelo in a 1-0 loss to Max Balard's (cap #652) NAC Breda on Sunday in a crucial relegation battle match. The result lifts Breda out of the drop zone, while Heracles remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

In Italy's Serie A, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) also played the entire match for Parma as they secured a last minute 2-1 win over bottom-placed Verona on Monday.

In Spain, Maty Ryan (cap #555) was in goal for Levante as they lost 2-0 to his former club Valencia on Monday.

In Germany's Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) played 69 minutes for St Pauli in a 4-0 loss to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday.

In Denmark, Paul Izzo (cap #650) was in goal for Randers FC and kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Vejle Boldklub on Saturday, making it four clean sheets in his past five league matches as the club keeps its slim Championship group hopes alive with two games remaining before the split.

In Croatia, Fran Karacic (cap #607) played 70 minutes for NK Osijek on Monday in a 2-0 loss against his former club HNK Hajduk Split.

In Scotland, Martin Boyle (cap #599) came on in the 64th minute while Jack Iredale played a full game for Hibernian in a 2-0 win over St Mirren FC on Sunday. 

Nicolas Milanovic (cap #651) was an unused substitute for Aberdeen in a 2-0 win over Motherwell on Monday while Ryan Strain (cap #624) played a full game for Dundee United in a 3-2 win over Falkirk FC.

Ryan McGowan (cap #546) played a full game for Livingston in a 2-2 draw with Dundee on Sunday.

Moving back to the Netherlands, Josh Nisbet (#642) played a full game for Roda JC Kerkrade in a 2-1 win over RKC Waalwijk on Saturday. 

In Spain's second tier, Awer Mabil (cap #597) was an unused substitute for Castellón in a 2-0 win over third-placed Deportivo La Coruña on Monday.

In the Czech First League, Garang Kuol (cap #627) started and played 58 minutes for Sparta Prague in a 2-0 win over FC Hradec Králové on Monday.

In Japan, Kusini Yengi (cap #638) came off the bench in the 80th minute for Cerezo Osaka in a 2-0 win over Avispa Fukuoka on Sunday in the J1 League. 

In the J2 League, Jason Geria (cap #586) played another full game for Albirex Niigata in a 4-0 loss to Tokushima Vortis on Sunday.

In Singapore, Bailey Wright (cap #576) played 74 minutes on Sunday for Lion City Sailors in a 7-0 win over Tanjong Pagar United.

In India, Jason Cummings (cap #626), Dimitri Petratos (cap # 593) and Jamie Maclaren (cap #584) all featured in Mohun Bagan SG's 2-0 win over Kerala Blasters on Saturday. 

Maclaren opened the scoring in the 36th minute before being replaced late by Cummings, while Petratos played 81 minutes and provided the assist for Maclaren. Former Brisbane Roar defender Tom Aldred sealed the result in the 97th minute.
