After safely negotiating their way through the first round of World Cup qualifying, the Socceroos kicked off the final phase with a trip to Muscat to take on Oman in June 2012.

Faced with a mid-afternoon kick-off and temperatures soaring into the 40’s, it was always going to be a tough ask for the Socceroos.
