Subway Socceroos appoint Aaron Harris as Lead Physiotherapist

The Subway Socceroos are pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Harris to the national team’s High-Performance department, as Lead Physiotherapist – Men’s Football.

Harris – who studied and began his physiotherapy career in Australia – joins the Subway Socceroos with an extensive background in elite football environments, having spent the past 20 years in the United Kingdom working with both Premier League and EFL Championship clubs.

Most recently at Newcastle United FC, Harris’ experience includes more than a decade with Tottenham Hotspur FC, as well as stints with Fulham FC and Queens Park Rangers FC.

Bringing a vast array of experience working with world-class athletes, Harris will play an integral role in working with players during all senior national team activity, in addition to providing ongoing support between FIFA Men’s International Windows.

Harris said he was excited to be returning to Australia to be take up his new role.

“I’ve always followed the Socceroos closely and it’s a very proud moment for me to be joining the national team,” Harris said.

“I’m hugely honoured at the prospect of working with the players, Tony, his coaching staff and all the fantastic support staff,” Harris concluded.

Football Australia’s General Manager of High Performance, Andrew McKenzie said: “I am thrilled to have a professional like Aaron join the High-Performance department in such an important leadership position for the National Teams.

“His experience at the elite levels of European football will provide us great opportunities to use his knowledge to develop our program and work closely with clubs to support our greatest Australian Football playing talent.”

Harris will commence his role ahead of the Socceroos' upcoming AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 26 fixtures in March.
