Subway Socceroos defender Thomas Deng will remain in the J1 League after penning a two-year contract with Yokohama F. Marinos.

The 27-year-old has signed with the five-time Japanese champions as a free agent following the conclusion of his contract with Albirex Niigata.
Deng had spent the previous three years with Albirex, claiming the J2 League title in his first season in 2022. Prior to that, he plied his trade at Urawa Red Diamonds after transferring from Melbourne Victory in 2020.
Deng, who has five international caps for Australia, was delighted to be joining one of the country's most successful clubs.
"To all Yokohama F. Marinos fans and supporters! I'm really excited and happy to be joining this historic club," he said in a club statement.
"The club has always had a strong presence in the J.League, and I have always admired F. Marinos' style. I will do my best to be of help to the team! I am also looking forward to meeting all the wonderful fans and supporters at Nissan Stadium."
