The Subway Socceroos will play its fifth and sixth international friendlies of 2023 when it faces England and New Zealand on Saturday 5:45am (AEDT) and Wednesday 5:45am (AEDT).
This will be the first of two historic clashes which will see the Subway Socceroos take on the Three Lions at a sold-out Wembley Stadium, the first time an Australian side has appeared at one of world football’s most iconic venues.
A clash with the All Whites follows which will be played at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford with the recently rediscovered New Zealand and Australia Soccer Ashes Trophy to be taken home by the winner. The prize makes its official return after being missing for almost 70 years.
Here is everything you need to know about the Subway Socceroos' clashes in London.
Our squad
Graham Arnold named a strong 23-player squad which has seen the return of 31-year-old midfielder Massimo Luongo for the first time in over four years as well as maiden selection for Hibernian full-back Lewis Miller.
Initially named in the squad, Riley McGree had to withdraw due to an injury sustained with Middlesbrough and was subsequently replaced by Aiden O'Neill.
Three additional train on players have also been called up in Alex Robertson, Mohamed Toure and Patrick Yazbek.

What they said
Graham Arnold
We are going through a bit more of a rebuild situation at the moment process and when you look at the squad overall, there are 11 players who've had less than 10 caps, there's five or six players that have had between 11 and 20. So it's quite an inexperienced squad. And I did feel with Mexico that when I took off the Mitchell Duke or Jackson Irvine, got injured and we lost that little bit of experience and with the retirement of Aaron Mooy and obviously Tommy Rogic now, we're going through that process of introducing some younger players. It's going to be great to bring in those three train on players in Mohamed Toure, Patrick Yazbek and Alexander Robertson. So all that does is add more depth for the future.

Obviously as good as England are and obviously the iconic venue it is but ultimately, it's a game of football. Like you said, with the experiences we've had with the World Cup, you know, playing massive teams all over the world really and some of the venues that we've been at, it's one that we go into with excitement knowing that we can we can play on the biggest stage against the best players. And it's one that we've got, you know, full belief in ourselves, but what we can do as a group, and yeah, hopefully it will be a good night for us.
Massimo Luongo
It's nice to see everyone, players have changed, it's just nice to be back. I haven't met a lot of players but you know when Aussies meet it feels like you've known each other for a while so it's just a nice environment to come back into... I had a pretty tragic run of injuries which probably kept me out for a little bit and then if anything, it was just about getting everything right off the pitch like mentally and working hard and being happy. And before you know it, I was 30 years old 31 already. It's just one of them that I didn't really think about because I had so much else going on I needed to get right and stuff like that. So that was the priority I think I feel like a call up is like a little reward for me for working hard and getting myself back to where I needed to be.
Jackson Irvine
We've got players at different stages of their careers at the moment, players who have had, as I say, different paths and playing in different leagues at different levels. Obviously, the development of the game in the last 20 years has been quite dramatic. Across world football, not just where we are (England). And as you can say, of course, we had in 2006 we had players playing in Premier League playing at the highest level, but you know, we didn't have that in Qatar yet, you know, we performed equally as well. So of course international football is an interesting dynamic now, I think we're seeing it's less important where players play the domestic football and it's more about the dynamic of the team. And I think we've shown again against Mexico in recent weeks that we're capable of competing at this level, despite not having players that maybe play a Premier League level.
