Five Australian men's national teams will soon take to the field over May and June, headlined by the Subway Socceroos' crucial FIFA World Cup 2026™ Qualifiers, in what is an action-packed few weeks for the men's football program.
It promises to be a massive month with more than 10 matches locked in for our senior and junior national teams.
Here is what is coming up for our teams:
Subway Socceroos
Starting with the Subway Socceroos, Tony Popovic's side have a pair of massive qualifiers against Japan and Saudi Arabia to close out the AFC Third Round of matches. The Aussies currently occupy second place in the Group C standings and control their own destiny of directly reaching the FIFA World Cup™ for a sixth consecutive time and seventh overall.
A training camp in Abu Dhabi also begins on Monday, 19 May ahead of the all-important fixtures.

Subway Australian U23s
Subway Australian U23s Head Coach, Tony Vidmar has selected a 23-player squad for a two-match friendly series with Korea Republic during the June FIFA Men’s International Window.
Australia will assemble in Yongin, Korea Republic for two matches, ahead of their AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers in September. Tony Vidmar’s squad will learn of their opponents in qualification on the eve of this upcoming window, with the Official Draw set to take place on Thursday, 29 May (6pm AEST).

Trevor Morgan’s squad will face Argentina in two matches, set to be played out of Buenos Aires as part of their FIFA U20 World Cup Chile 2025™ preparations during the June FIFA Men’s International Window.
Morgan's side return to the field for the first time since their historic AFC U20 Asian Cup triumph™ in China against Saudi Arabia.

Australian U18s
Football Australia has sent a U18 side to the UEFA Friendship Cup to be held in Nyon, Switzerland from 30 May – 11 June 2025. Australia have been drawn into Group A alongside Argentina, France and the USA. Should the side advance from their group they could face either Japan, Portugal, Senegal or Uruguay.
The selected U18 side travelling to Nyon will be led by Subway Young Socceroos Assistant, Richard Garcia, who will have an eye to the future, with the squad set to feature several potential Subway Young Socceroos for the next cycle.

Subway Joeys
Subway Joeys’ Head Coach, Brad Maloney has selected a 23-player squad for the Hohhot U16 Tournament, to be held in China from 26 May – 2 June.
With the move to an annual FIFA U-17 World Cup™, this camp will provide a new cohort of players with the opportunity to experience international football and put themselves in contention for future Subway Joeys’ honours with the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers scheduled for November 2025.
For the vast majority of this Subway Joeys’ squad – where all players must be 16 years or younger to be selected – it will be their first national team camp.
