The Subway Socceroos defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in Dhaka on Thursday notching their fifth consecutive clean sheet in AFC Second Round FIFA World Cup Qualifying.

Ajdin Hrustic opened the scoring in the first half while Kusini Yengi headed home from a Jordy Bos cross to make it 2-0 over Bangladesh at the Bashundhara Kings Arena.
Promising 18-year-old winger Nestory Irankunda became the 643rd Socceroo as he was handed a debut by Graham Arnold.
Australia top the group with a perfect five wins from five games heading into AFC Third Round World Cup 2026 Qualifying with one game to play against Palestine at HBF Park in Perth on Tuesday, 11 June.
