Bio
Jacob Italiano has emerged as an exciting right-sided option for the CommBank Socceroos following a career that has taken him from Perth to European football.
The Perth-born defender progressed through the Perth Glory academy and made his A-League Men debut in 2017 before joining Borussia Mönchengladbach’s academy in Germany. He later moved to Austria with Grazer AK, where regular senior football helped establish him at the professional level.
Italiano’s performances earned him a first CommBank Socceroos call-up in 2025, making his international debut against Canada in October of that year.
He was subsequently selected for his first major tournament at the FIFA World Cup 2026™, starting Australia’s opening 2-0 victory over Türkiye on his World Cup debut as the Socceroos went on to reach the Round of 32.
