Can you believe it has been 20 years since THAT incredible 2005 night in Sydney as the Socceroos defeated Uruguay on penalties to qualify for the FIFA World Cup™ for the first time in 32 years.

From Mark Schwarzer's penalty saves to John Aloisi's winning penalty, it was an occasion which truly transcended football, while changing the game in this country forever.
Australia, led by the legendary Dutch tactician, Guus Hiddink, overturned a first-leg deficit through Mark Bresciano's stunning finish to restore parity on aggregate. With little separating the two sides after 120 minutes, a penalty shootout ensued, and as they say, the rest is history.
