The Qatar 2022 Fan Engagement Programme will assemble a network of passionate Fan Leaders from every corner of the globe to ensure that the fans’ voice is central to everything Qatar does for the World Cup in 2022. Becoming a Fan Leader will lead to unique money can’t buy opportunities that would excite any football fan. Fan Leaders will not only represent their local community, but also their home nation, and will be in the thick of the World Cup action.
Fan Leaders will have exclusive access to bespoke content that they can own and share within their local fan communities and on their personal of fan group’s social media channels, for example, video content and exclusive messages from football legends, such as Qatar’s Legacy Ambassadors which include former greats like Xavi, Samuel Eto’o, Cafu and Tim Cahill, as well as bespoke content and access to tournament milestones ahead of the rest of the world seeing it for themselves. Exclusive FIFA World Cup™ stadium content, tournament information and Legacy Ambassador news and interviews are just a few examples of the content streams that will be delivered straight into their inbox from our dedicated Fan Engagement Programme team.
There will also be opportunities for some Fan Leaders to travel to Qatar for football events or international football tournaments in advance of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ - to learn more about the host country’s culture and traditions - and see first-hand the progress and preparations for the tournament and what fans will experience when they arrive in 2022.

How will the Qatar 2022 Fan Engagement Programme work with Fan Leaders?
Communication will be key to the success of the programme. Below are some ways the programme will work with this network of fans:
- The programme team will provide weekly content that can be shared on their channels (personal and fan groups)
- Monthly challenges in which they will be tasked with creating new and innovative content that will feature on Qatar’s tournament channels and be shared with other Fan Leaders from around the world
- Quarterly focus group workshops for insight and fan consultation
- Ad hoc surveys and questionnaires to understand more about fan needs In addition to the Fan Leader Programme, engagement with the broadest spectrum of fans through National Football
- ‘Money can’t buy experiences’, including:
- Branded giveaways
- Exclusive content provided in their language for their channels – provided to Fan Leaders before it is shared publicly with the rest of the footballing world
- Profiling them and their role in the programme on our social media accounts
- Tickets to special football matches, tournaments, events
- Exclusive personal engagements with Qatar’s Legacy Ambassadors to mark special occasions and Qatar milestones
