Hayden Foxe joined Tony Popovic's Subway Socceroos coaching staff in September 2024 with the pair boasting a strong connection on and off the pitch. Foxe was Popovic's teammate at Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan as well as international teammates. Foxe also served as Popa's assistant during stints at Western Sydney Wanderers and later Perth Glory, and most recently Foxe was an assistant to fellow Socceroo John Aloisi at Western United.
The defender began his professional career in Germany with Arminia Bielefeld before moving to Japan. In 2000, Foxe returned to Europe playing for West Ham and Portsmouth in the Premier League as well as a season at Leeds United in the Championship and in Belgium with KV Mechelen.
He returned to the A-League in 2007 with Perth Glory before signing with hometown outfit Sydney FC, winning the A-League Premiership and Championship double in 2010.
Foxe scored two goals in 11 matches for the Socceroos between 1998 and 2003 after being given cap #441.
