Bio
Aiden O’Neill has established himself as a hard-working and reliable midfielder for the CommBank Socceroos.
Raised in Queensland, O’Neill moved to England as a teenager to pursue a professional career and progressed through the Burnley system, making appearances in the Premier League. He later returned to Australia and established himself with Melbourne City before moves to Standard Liège in Belgium and New York City FC in Major League Soccer.
O’Neill made his CommBank Socceroos debut against Ecuador in 2023 and became an increasingly trusted member of the midfield during Australia’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, starting the decisive victories over Japan and Saudi Arabia.
He went on to make his World Cup debut in Australia’s opening victory over Türkiye and was part of the squad that progressed to the Round of 32.
